At the beginning of the film ‘No Direction Home’, first presented to the audience is a piece of music, from Bob Dylon — the protagonist of the documentary.
Then the scene is about snowy and trees, with the narrator, makes people easy to associate the protagonist’s character. This is a good way to connect, before rock music scene transitions to the quiet snow, let the audience can be noticed that the back of the content.
Then the scene is about Bob Dylon’s childhood, old photos, old house, with the background music. Without too much words but it is very enough to show what the director’s meaning. This is worthy of reference and learning, for me, in the documentary film, I always want to use a scene to describe a lot of things. But it tends to make the whole picture is a mess, there is no point at all.
This film make me feel very calm and soothing, but express the meaning is clear, it is worth learning for me, also let me to have made a lot of interest to Bob Dylon.
